[FB Fon 5050] LAN B & ADSL-Modem not working & wlan can be "enabled"
Hi there, I'm hacking arround with IPv6 on FB 5050 and it works quite ok, but that's not what I'm running into right now.
Usually I have a modem (Alice Saphirion IAD) hooked up on LAN A of the 5050 and connect the rest of my network over LAN B. With the current AVM firmware (12.40.31) this works very nice, but I don't get IPv6.
So now I downloaded the current svn (2372) and patched IPv6 form #139 and modified the 5050 kernel sources as well (Details: http://www.ip-phone-forum.de/showthread.php?p=1130657)
The new created kernel images boots but does not provide connectivity on LAN B, only on LAN A (which has to be configured as a usual LAN Port before installing the firmware using the AVM Webinterface or the box won't be accessible).
LAN B can not be initiated with ifconfig eth1 up (tried till eth9) and the webinterface (and the box/modem itself, I think) doesn't recognize that the DSL line is connected, but I made an interesting discovery:
If one enables the option to host all interfaces (LAN A, LAN B and USB) in different subnets (by going to Einstellungen/System/Netzwerkeinstellungen/IP-Adressen and disabling the checkbutton there) the output of ifconfig becomes very interesting.
The out-of-the-box output with freetz reports devices:
eth0, lan, lan:0 and loopback.
And now we can see devices eth0 (= LAN A, ok), eth0:0 (which is a virtual device upon eth0, ok), lo (loopback, ok) and wlan…?! The 5050 has no wireless, this is not ok!
So I assume that the 5050 is considered as a LAN/WLAN instead of LAN/LAN device by the makefile, but I don't know this makefile (or makefiles at all) good enough to even find out what it does
Oh yeah, and I just reproduced this with a vanilla build of 2372, fresh from svn and with a new config by menuconfig (though it is exactly the same as my IPv6 .config without IPv6)
I'm not sure which component this is exactly, so I selected other. Severity for 5050 users is critical (onboard ADSL doesn't work as well!), overaly I think major is ok (if you don't agree set it lower/higher )
Good ni… morning, Sebastian
